The boundary sign pictured on the welcome page is situated at Rainhill Stoops, near to the M62 junction, a major entry point to Rainhill on the A57 road. Together with similar signs at the western and northern routes into the township, it was devised and funded by Rainhill Railway and Heritage Society (see our links page). We are grateful to that Society for agreeing that we could feature the sign as an entrance to our site.

Although it has since changed beyond recognition, the site was originally created in 2000 by Paul Heneghan of Rainhill High School, using information supplied by the Society. The idea for the site came about as a way of presenting the Parish Map, which was the Society's Millennium project. The Society is grateful to Paul and his supervisor, Mr Danny Doherty, for getting the site up and running. We would also like to thank the High School students who took some of the photographs on the map pages.

Links from this site to other pages are given for the convenience of visitors and the Society is not responsible for their content or accuracy. We welcome links to our site; an acknowledgement would be appreciated.
